Melinda's body and bike have been found.
Our hearts and thoughts are with Melinda's family and friends.

The Bay Area Menstrual cycle Club, or BAMCC (of which Melinda was a member), are selling memorial Big Red t-shirts, the proceeds from which will be used to purchase a brick in Melinda's name on the new Laguna Seca Corkscrew Patio/Walkway.

All the messages of condolence received via email, as well as peoples' personal stories and remembrances, are now posted here. The number of messages is truly amazing, and we can all see just how much Melinda was loved, and by so very many people.

For Melinda's upcoming birthday, many photos were collected, and we plan on adding more as we receive them. They are separated by topic; Pictures of Melinda, the searches for Melinda, Melinda's Memorial Ride, the tree planting ceremony, the memorials at Zeitgeist, and views of the crash site, the memorials left there, and other reminders of Big Red from throughout the Bay area.

Please, everyone, be very proud of yourselves. Never has a grassroots network sprung up to handle a crisis as the Bay area motorcycling community has in this case. The tremendous outpouring of love, support, and assistance continues to warm the hearts of all of us who knew and love Melinda (sorry to mix my tenses, but in this case it's really appropriate). Love has been pouring in from all over the world and throughout the motorcycle industry, as well.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped, wrote, and did whatever they could since Melinda's disappearance. We couldn't have done this without you.

For those who know and love Melinda, we are all here for you, and each other.

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the apexes be smooth,
May your brake markers never move,
And may you always be smiling as you disappear into the distance, your knee puck on the deck.

We love you, Melinda. You will be greatly missed.

A Message from Mark Hindman:

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your assistance, caring, and condolances. Melinda was a wonderful person who touched many, many lives, and many of your lives touched hers, as well. The love and support you keep sending, to myself and to each other, is what keeps me going through this incredibly painful time."

If you have photos of Melinda or her remembrances that you wish to share, please email them to us, and we will add them to the remembrance and photo pages (listed above).

For those wishing to visit Melinda's crash site, we are providing mile marker and lat/long information. The pulloff is on Highway 1 at mile marker 2854. GPS coordinates are 38.49138 deg. N, 123.19458 deg. W (WGS84).

If you wish to visit the crash site, please note these two very important facts: First, if you are approaching the turnoff from the south, you must cross Highway 1 at a blind corner for traffic coming the other way. Please be very careful if arriving from the south; we don't want anyone to get hurt. Second, while we all understand that many of you will want to visit the crash site, please do NOT, under ANY circumstances, go down the hillside, or disturb anything on the hillside or beach, including her motorcycle. It is important to her family the the site be disturbed as little as possible. Do not, under ANY circumstances, take pieces of her motorcycle or any personal effects you may find. It is Mark's wish that this site remain sacred and untouched. And thank you all for your consideration.
